New BMW X1 M rendered – Here’s what it could look like
So BMW unveiled the new X1 last week. The car is a massive upgrade above the current X1 (of which I wasn’t a big fan). The 2015 BMW X1 is based on the UKL platform, and is said to have fuel efficient engines.
The updated X1 showed amazing potential and promise, but no signs of an M variant. Now we all know the importance of the M badge. That means the SUV looks better, drives better and sounds better. And as history shows the M badge has always been loved, and will continue to do so.
Keeping this in mind, the good folks at X-Tomi Design spent some time rendering a picture of what to expect if the BMW X1 undergoes the M treatment. The result looks amazing. The typical M treatment has been given, and if at all the guys over at BMW decide to go ahead with this, it will have a huge fan following.
A huge body kit, with air intakes and low profile tyres coupled with a quad exhaust system does sound tempting. Add in the 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol with a tuned set up and you’re good to go. The UKL platform does include the option of adding in a 6 cylinder, which sounds like a fun car to have in your garage.
The new BMW X1 will be revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, and should hit Indian shores by early next year. The car will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Chennai.
