New Audi Q3 facelift unveiled; Will be launched in India in the third Quarter of 2015
The Audi Q3 was launched in fall 2011 and since then the Q3 compact SUV has been a very successful model for the German brand Audi. The German car maker is constantly improving its successful models and the new Q3 and RS Q3 feature a refreshed design and a number of technical improvements. The new Audi Q3 will be on sale in UK early next year.
The compact SUV gets revisions to the front and sides in the form of refreshed headlights and a set of new alloy wheels. All three variants on offers namely the SE, S Line and Flight S Line get a full body colour paint finish as standard. The base SE trim gets Xenon bulbs and DRLs incorporated into the new headlamp design, while the mid and top variants (S Line and Flight S Line) get LED treatment. Taillights also feature LEDs but the top two trims get the scrolling rear indicators.
The new Audi Q3 boasts of 3 petrol and 2 diesel engine options. The new engine in the petrol line-up is the 1.4 TFSI motor which produces a peak power of 150PS which first featured in the A1 and A3. This new engine has a claimed 0-100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds without affecting the fuel economy. The 2.0 and 2.5 litre petrol mills have been tweaked to produce higher power outputs of 180PS and 340PS compared to the previous 170PS and 310PS. The diesels motors are available in two states of tune (150PS and 184PS) respectively. Customers can opt for the manual or S tronic automatic transmission.
Equipment and Trim:-
In terms of equipment the Q3 gets power adjustable front seats and interior LED lighting package. With respect to safety the Audi Q3 gets updated with secondary collision assist, blind spot alert and active lane assist in addition to the features available on the current model.
The Indian Spec Q3 will continue to be powered by the same 2.5 litre TDI motor with the current power and torque figures. The updated model could be introduced in India in the third quarter of 2015. The new Audi Q3 is priced at £25,340 in the UK which equates to roughly 24.7 lakh INR.
