MV Agusta sold to ComSar Invest by Mercedes AMG

The Italian motorcycle maker, MV Agusta, is owned by Mercedes AMG, with the latter having 25% of its stake. The German car manufacturer made the decision to sell its shares of MV Agusta to ComSar Invest, which belongs to the Black Ocean Group.

The marketing partnership between MV Agusta and Mercedes AMG that was signed back in 2014 came to an end with this decision. In 2014, Mercedes bought stakes of MV Agusta for 30million euros and now the same stakes will hold a much higher value while selling. After the recent restriction of MV Agusta, their President and owner Giovanni Castiglioni claimed that the company’s financial situation had improved.

MV Agusta gave an official statement stating that the new holding structure of MV Agusta which will be controlled 100% by MV Agusta Motor S.p.A, sees that ComSar Invest can be one of the strong shareholders they have. They also said that Giovanni Castiglioni’s investment company GC Holding will be controlling all stakes.

The company now focuses on making high end performance bikes and with this their capital is also said to increase, though the value of sale is unrevealed.
