MV Agusta F3 800 ABS imported to India, launch soon
The next motorcycle manufacturer to foray into the Indian two-wheeler market is the world famous brand known as MV Agusta. The legendary Italian manufacturer is known to produce some of the world’s most wicked and fastest superbikes. The company will be coming to our shores by November and will partner with the Kinetic Group.
MV Agusta will be bringing its entire portfolio of products in the next two years. The first bike to reach India was the Brutale 1090. This time around, the company has just brought in the F3 800 ABS motorcycle to our country, most likely for homologation purposes. This indicates that MV Agusta is eager to launch its products in the Indian market very soon.
Having a dry weight of 173 kgs, the MV Agusta F3 800 derives power from a 798cc three-cylinder engine that churns out 148 HP at 13,000 RPM and 88 Nm of torque at 10,600 RPM. The massive amount of power and impressive power to weight ratio of 1.17 HP/kg propels the supersport motorcycle to a top speed of 269 km/hr, through a slick 6-speed transmission.
The bike comes loaded with a host of technologies including the likes of ABS and a Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS) platform that combines traction control and electronic control of the throttle for increased stability. It rides on a Sachs monoshock rear suspension with 123 mm of travel and 43 mm up-side down Marzocchi forks at the front with 125 mm travel. It quickly loses its speed thanks to classy Brembo 320 mm twin disks up-front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear.
Based on a Trellis frame made from tubular steel, the bike has a fuel tank capacity of 16.5-litres. The MV Agusta F3 800 will go head on with the likes of the Triumph Daytona 675 and the Ducati Panigale 899. The very potent machine is expected to be priced around Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom) and is set to set the streets on fire with its stellar looks.
