Initially the Pajero Sport was imported to India through the CBU route, but now the carmaker has started local assembly of the SUV to price it competitively. Mitsubishi will focus on expanding its network in India to ensure availability of sales and service network. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport automatic will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Ssangyong Rexton and Hyundai Santa Fe. The Pajero Sport has a few takers who are mostly off-road enthusiasts, but with the launch of the AT variant, Mitsubishi has given another option to comfort seekers which will surely lift the flagging fortunes of the Pajero SUV in India.
