Mercedes To Launch S500 And S63 AMG Coupe models In India On 30th July
After becoming the leading luxury car manufacturer in the country in the first part of 2015, Mercedes-Benz India is planning to take Audi head on by launching the S500 and S63 AMG coupe models in India on 30th July 2015.
Basically the same as the S-Class, the S500 coupe is nothing but a two-door version of the S-Class luxury sedan that is powered by the massive 4.7-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine which churns out 453 PS of power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The supremely powerful S63 AMG on the other hand will be powered by a 5.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that gives out 577 PS of power and 900 Nm of torque. Both of the aforementioned models will be retailed in the country for the first time with power being driven to either the rear two-wheels or through an advanced 4Matic four-wheel drive system. The sportier S63 AMG will ride on Mercedes’ active curve tilting system which uses the vehicle’s dampers to lean it into curves with more stability and confidence at very high speeds.
The S63 AMG will sport a very aggressive looking body kit, consisting of carbon-fibre inserts and the iconic AMG badges to distinguish it from the standard S500 coupe. As part of its 2015 strategy, of the total 15 new products planned to launch in India this year, 6 have already been launched. Mercedes India will be launching the remaining 9 new products in the country this year with new colour options.
