Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet teased

Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet design sketch

Mercedes-Benz was indeed working on the S-Class Cabriolet as anticipated by many and the company has just revealed what the two-door convertible will actually look like. Based on arguably the best car in the planet, the cabriolet will also be one hell of a looker. It will be longer than five metres (like the S-Class) and might be heavier than the sedan as well. Judging from the picture, it will look similar to the S500 from the rear end, which does look pretty neat and premium as well.

Termed as the company’s first “flagship-level luxury four-seater” since 1971, additional details of the Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet are still under the wraps and Mercedes will reveal the same in the coming future. With the Frankfurt Motor Show coming up in September, more information is expected to be made available at the same event

Since this will be a two-door convertible, the German luxury car maker should offer the vehicle with diesel engines and not petrol motors. The petrol engines will instead find their way on to the S500, S63 and S63 AMG models spawned from the Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet.

The upcoming convertible will carry all the usual technological gimmicks found on the Mercedes S-Class sedan including the likes of Magic Body Control. The cabriolet will surely be one hell of a car (a dream car for many) combining utmost luxury, style, performance and comfort in the best possible manner.

Given that Mercedes is on a launching spree in our country, the upcoming Cabriolet should also be making its debut here, soon after its launch in the international market. It will be brought to India via the CBU route and will be accessible to an elite few who would give the ultimate style quotient when driving around in what will become one of the best two-door car the world has ever seen.
