Mercedes Benz introduces the magnificent Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
The new Mercedes Benz S-Class is an epitome of german luxury. However, in order to take things to the next level, the German luxury car major Mercedes Benz has introduced the new Maybach S-Class. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is essentially the more luxurious and larger version of the truly great S-Class. The new Maybach S-Class is offered in the S 500 and S 600 model trims. Mercedes Benz has also taken on a new moniker for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, as the suffix ‘Benz’ has been given a miss on these even more premium S-Class models. However, this has not been done for the first time, as the German auto major’s new line of AMG vehicles are also branded as just Mercedes-AMG. Thus, the company has again given rise to a new category of cars in the form of the new Mercedes-Maybach.
The standard S-Class that is available in the market is already a highly luxurious and large car perched on a long wheelbase, but the newly introduced Maybach version of the car stretches its wheelbase further by 20 cm. This lengthening of the wheelbase makes the vehicle even larger than that of the Bentley Mulsanne. The further stretched wheelbase also ensures that the cabin space of the luxury car is also expanded to offer even better legroom and comfort at the rear. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also offers the superb reclining executive seats which can be reclined from 19 to 43.5 degrees on both sides as standard feature. The luxurious cabin has now become super luxurious in the Mercedes-Maybach. The interior can be termed as “wonderful piece of art” now with almost all its interior surfaces wrapped in premium leather, chrome or wood.
The2015 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also obviously comes with a gigantic feature list that includes a new Burmester audio system, premium champagne flutes, a massive panoramic sunroof with Magic Sky Control which magically transforms the glass from clear to opaque at the simple touch of a button. Under the hood, things have been kept similar, as the S 500 is powered by the V8 bi-turbocharged motor. The top of the line S 600, on the other hand gets powered by the larger and more powerful bi-turbocharged V12 engine churning out mammoth power figures of 530PS and 830Nm making sure that the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is matched with outstanding performance as well. Mercedes says that the car can reach 0 to 100kmph in a mere 5 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. However, the most remarkable USP of the Maybach S-Class is its claimed world’s quietest cabin. There is of course much more to the excellent Mercedes-Maybach S-Class that makes the vehicle a dream luxury car.
The 2015 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 600 is expected to have its official global market launch by April 2015. For India, Mercedes Benz could bring it on an order basis. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected to cost more than Rs. 2.5 crore if it goes on sale in India.
