Mercedes-Benz India posts a 25 percent jump in sales

According to reports, luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has successfully posted a 25 per cent growth in its entire sales for the initial half of 2014 in India. A total of 4,717 units have been sold in India by Mercedes-Benz. This achievement of the German auto giant has significantly been contributed by the flagship S-Class sedan, the ML-Class SUV along with New Generation Cars (NGC) portfolio. The portfolio comprises of the A-Class and the B-Class. The A class requires a special mention here as it has been a runaway success in India and there is no denying the fact that’s its the best luxury hatch available in the market today.

Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India commented on its sales performance by stating that the initial half of the sales growth reaffirms the company’s strong brand premium with a competitive edge especially in terms of offering continuous product innovations. The following factors have been responsible for the strong sales growth – benchmark production facility, after sales experience and wide spread dealership presence in India.

Kern also revealed that many exciting products are in the pipe-line for the remaining two quarters. That includes the much eagerly awaited GLA-Class crossover. This is a clear indication for yet another year of strong growth for Mercedes-Benz. The C-Class and the E-Class luxury sedans remain the top sellers for the German car maker in India. The AMG range of performance cars have also been contributing to the growth of the company in India.
