Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Crossover Launching in India on September 30, 2014
German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has been launching new products in the Indian market at regular intervals. The next one up its sleeve is the highly anticipated GLA-Class crossover. The crossover will compete with the likes of BMW X1 and Audi Q3. Pre-bookings for the GLA crossover has already begun and Mercedes will be launching the car on the 30th September 2014.
This is the third product from the Mercedes-Benz stable which is based on the MFA platform after the A and B-Class. The front end of the mini-crossover features headlights with DRLs (day time running lights). Some of the significant features include front and rear parking sensors, navigation system, dual zone climate control, active park assist, 9 airbags for safety, Bluetooth connectivity, and an infotainment system with 6 speakers to keep you entertained while on the move. The GLA-Class also gets radiator shutters and a start-stop button.
The SUV will be powered by both diesel and petrol engines. The petrol model could be available with two engine options namely – a 1.6 litre motor capable of producing 156bhp of power and a 2.0 litre engine which pumps out 181bhp. The oil burner would feature a 2.2 litre engine that produces 135bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both the engines would be mated to a 7 speed dual clutch unit. For motoring enthusiasts Mercedes-Benz would be launching the AMG version of the crossover later.
Expected price: Rs 30 Lakh
