Mercedes AMG S-63 launched in India at Rs. 2.53 crore
The Mercedes AMG S63 performance saloon has been launched in India priced at Rs. 2.53 crore (ex-showroom, Bangalore).
Propelling the Mercedes AMG beast is the same 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 AMG engine. The massive motor generates about 577bhp of power at 5500rpm and 900Nm of torque between 2250 and 3750 rpm. As for performance figures, the S63 AMG hits the 100 kmph mark from standstill in about 4.4 seconds (4.0 seconds for the US only 4matic LWB platform model). Top speed is limited to 250kmph, which makes sense given the road conditions in the country.
The engine’s power is sent to all 4 tyres if the customer opts for the 4matic addition. The Mercedes AMG S-63 weighs about a 100 kgs lighter than the previous S-63. All the weight loss is achieved by using aluminum in the roof and other body components. The lightweight lithium ion battery and AMG forged alloy wheels also compliment the weight loss efforts in the car.
All the power from the engine is transferred to the tyres via the AMG 7-speed MCT gearbox. The gearbox has three modes, the “C” which is controlled efficiency, the “S” which is sports and “M” which is manual.
Along with this you will get all the AMG goodies (floor-mat, pedals) ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, attention assist, Burmester 3D audio system and high performance LED headlamps along with a host of other things.
So, if you`ve got enough idle money lying in your account to purchase the Mercedes AMG S63, look no further. You get the best of both world`s – Performance and luxury.
