Mercedes AMG GT S launched in India at Rs. 2.40 crores
Successor to the hugely popular SLS AMG, Mercedes has just launched the AMG GT S in India at Rs. 2.40 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). Mercedes’ flagship model in India is one hell of a looker with many design elements have been carried over from the SLS AMG. The supercar should find a few buyers in the country given the increasing popularity of cars in the same segment.
The exterior has flowing lines without any sharp edges. The sloping roofline goes all the way back to the rear end giving it a very sleek profile. 5-spoke AMG alloy wheels, LED taillights and two exhausts placed at opposite ends gives the Mercedes AMG GT S an unmistakable identity. Interior is highlighted by an 8.4-inch touchscreen COMAND system that displays various mechanical details of the car. Mercedes is offering a range of customisation options for the interior and the customer can make a host of changes to individualize his car.
Under the hood of the Mercedes AMG GT S is a new 4.0-litre bi-turbo engine that develops 510 PS of power at 6250 RPM and 650 Nm of torque between 1750 to 4750 RPM. Paired to a superfast 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, the AMG GT S can reach the ton mark from standstill in just 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 310 km/hr. It also has a performance exhaust that adjusts sounds as per the driving mode selected thanks to variable exhaust flaps.
Being a fast car, it comes with safety features including the likes of Adaptive Brake, rear view camera, TPMS, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Attention Assist, pre-safe system and PARKTRONIC. The supercar also gets ESP, AMG Ride Control, Dynamic Plus Package and a unique Race mode.
