Mercedes-AMG GT launching in India by end of this year
Mercedes has been on a product offensive in our country this year. Following the footsteps of major rival Audi, Mercedes has introduced various models in the luxury and performance category. The next major launch from Mercedes comes in the form of the famous AMG GT. Sole successor of the SLS AMG, the AMG GT will be launched in India before the end of this year. This news comes to light after one unit of the same supercar was just imported to our country.
On the mechanical front, the Mercedes-AMG GT churns out a massive 456 BHP of power in the normal variant and 503 BHP of power on the AMG GT S trim. The power figures are achieved through a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine that is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The car can propel from standstill to 100 km/hr in 3.9 seconds on the AMG GT and 3.7 seconds to do the same in the AMG GT S.
Of the most ultimate supercars in the current era, the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT model is expected to find many rich kids heading to the performance AMG range of showrooms before the end of this year. The AMG GT Edition 1 which is based on the more powerful AMG GT S is going to be retailed in the country. This special edition offers a special aerodynamic kit which includes black side view mirrors, blackened front grille, front splitter, diffuser, exhaust pipe, wheel archest, a carbon-fibre roof and a rear spoiler as well.
When launched in the country, Edition 1 model is expected to be priced in excess of Rs. 2.25 crores (ex-showroom). Sales are expected to be good and people driving this car will surely attract a lot of attention on Indian roads.
