Mercedes-AMG C63 S launched in India at Rs. 1.3 crores
It has been raining new cars this year in India. All car makers in the country are on the product offensive this year, launching multiple vehicles ranging right from the entry-level hatchback space, all the way to premium luxury vehicles. One such premium car maker is Mercedes-Benz.
The German luxury car manufacturer is due to launch 15 new models this year, with many already having been introduced in the market. Many of these products are performance oriented versions, i.e., AMG models. The latest AMG model to adore Indian showrooms is the C63 S. Based on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the AMG C63 S is one hoot of a performance sedan.
Powered by a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor unlike other AMG models that derive power from a larger 5.5-litre twin-turbo engine instead, the C63 S’ engine develops a huge 503 BHP of power and 700 Nm of twisting force. The massive power and torque figure is enough to take the car to 100 km/hr from standstill in just a mere four seconds.
Yes, this vehicle is one hell of a track machine, but it also is a very practical sedan as well. With the very comfortable rear seats and four doors, it can be easily driven around the city without much of a hassle thanks to the ‘Comfort’ driving mode. Prices? Yes, the C63 S AMG is a very expensive saloon which will set one back Rs. 1.3 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The tenth AMG vehicle launched this year will go head on with the very capable BMW M3 in India. But given the S-Class inspired styling cues and aggressive AMG visual upgrades, the C63 S is a better buy in my opinion, providing access to crazy amounts of power without compromising on practicality and a proper four-seater layout.
