Maruti’s Acclaimed K-Series Engine Crosses 25 Lakh Units Production Milestone
India`s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has got another feather in its cap. It`s much acclaimed K-Series engine crossed the 25 lakh units production milestone. This engine is known for its refinement and fuel efficiency. The K-Series engine powers some of Maruti`s successful models like the Swift, Alto K10, Celerio and Wagon R.
The K-Series first debuted with the A-Star in 2008. This engine series also powers CNG and LPG vehicles, which the company sells including the compact sedan segment leader Dzire and MPV Ertiga. In terms of refinement and fuel efficiency, the K-Series is one of the best engines available in the market today. Executive Director of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, CV Raman stated that MSI is working towards making better engines and going forward the company will use the latest technological innovations to manufacture engines that enhance performance, fuel efficiency and reduce NVH levels.
The company has posted a growth of 14.7 percent for the period Jan to July 2014 with total sales of 4,01,274 vehicles in comparison to 3,49,733 units, sold during the same period of previous fiscal. The next new product from the Maruti stable will be the Ciaz sedan. It will be replacing the SX4 and is slated for launch during the festive season.
