Maruti Vitara Brezza launched in India; Prices start from Rs. 6.99 lakh
India`s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has launched its first compact SUV in the country today. Called the Vitara Brezza, it has been developed entirely in India by a team headed by MSI Executive Director (R&D), C V Raman. The car is available in 7 variants and is powered by a 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine.

Being a compact SUV the Brezza is 3,995 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,640 mm high. It offers 328 litres of boot space and an SUV like ground clearance of 198 mm. Drawing inspiration from the XA Alpha and the Suzuki Vitara, it is quite a good looking product from the Maruti stable.
The top-spec Z grade variants boast of segment leading features like inbuilt navigation, SmartPlay Infotainment system, engine start-stop button, reverse parking camera, 60:40 split rear seat, automatic headlamps and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Keeping safety in mind the car maker has equipped the car with a driver side airbag as standard across the range. Grades ‘O’ and ‘Z’ get an additional passenger airbag along with ABS and EBD.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza gets its juice from a 1.3 litre DDiS 200 engine which bangs out 90 PS of power and 200 NM of twist. Power is channelized to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The Brezza delivers a class leading fuel economy figure (ARAI rated) of 24.3 km/l.
