Maruti Suzuki Witnesses Highest- Ever Sales for the Month of September

Maruti Suzuki tops JD power survey

Trust us when we say we saw it coming! India’s most favoured carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India has registered unprecedented growth in its domestic sales in August 2016. The auto major has registered a total sales figure of 1.32 lakh units as compared to 1.17 lakh units in August 2015. The domestic sales growth achieved by the country’s largest passenger carmaker is 12.2%, which is being claimed as highest ever sales in a month in the Indian car market. The company is doing well in the export market too by registering a growth of 10% with a sales figure of 2280 units.

The star performers of the Indo-Japanese automaker were- Baleno, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ciaz, not forgetting to mention the special contribution of WagonR, Alto and Swift twins as well. The Utility Vehicle (UV) segment seems to have proven to be a ‘Midas touch’ for the company as it registered a total sales of 16,806 units. It also brought back the lost sheen of the UV segment by registering growth of 114% as compared to the last year during same month. Going by the reports, the compact cars like Swift Dzire, Swift, Baleno, Celerio and Ritz accounted for sales of over 45,000 units that reflects around 10% growth. The mini-segment that includes Alto and WagonR however did not deliver as per the expectations of the company and saw a decline of 5.5%.

Looking at the list of upcoming launches, it seems there is no stopping for the Indo-Japanese carmaker. The  Ignis and Baleno RS is all set to grace the Indian domestic market this festive season. The very first mini crossover from Maruti Suzuki, the Ignis upon its launch will be seen competing with the Mahindra KUV100 and will be placed below the Vitara Brezza. While the much awaited Baleno RS will be seen locking horns with the Ford Figo 1.5L and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
