Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire Crosses 1 Million sales milestone
The country’s first and most favourite compact sedan, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has reached the 1 million sales mark. The Dzire has always been one of the best-selling models and is also one of the most trusted models from the Maruti stable. It has been on the top three best-selling vehicle’s list of the Indian car market for the last three consecutive years (which is quite a feat).
The Swift DZire was launch in India back in 2008 and has been a consistent performer ever since. It now has the pleasure of making it to the elite sales club following other models that are also from the same stable, including the Alto (2.83 million units sold), Maruti 800 (2.67 million units sold), Omni (1.68 million units sold), Wagon R (1.63 million units sold) and the Swift (1.36 million units sold).
The company’s executive director of marketing and sales said that the Dzire is a complete package which attracts many customers. The facelift adds to this fact with its refreshed styling, good equipment list and amazing fuel efficiency figures. While the 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers 20.85 km/l, the 1.3-litre diesel engine delivers 26.59 km/l, which until recently was India’s most fuel efficient passenger car. The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel has now taken the top spot.
The interiors come fitted with usual features like reverse parking sensors, push button start and stop, alloy wheels, infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and the likes. With the recent facelift, the Dzire will not be updated anytime in the near future, but it faces stiff competition from the Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the upcoming Ford Figo Aspire in the segment.
