The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross crossover is likely to be named simply as the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross in the Indian car market. Maruti Suzuki seems to have given a miss to the SX4 moniker as the SX4 sedan did not live up to the expectations. The SX4 sedan was one of the rare dull sellers from the house of India’s largest car manufacturing company.

The upcoming crossover model from Maruti Suzuki is expected to be called only as the S-Cross based on its new promotional image. If one is to believe the promotional image of the crossover model, then Maruti Suzuki will neither use the ‘A-Cross’ moniker nor it will be adding the ‘SX4′ prefix to the vehicle’s name.

In the mean time the company is bracing up to showcase the Maruti S-Cross prior to its Indian market launch at the IIFA Awards. It has been already reported that the Indo-Japanese car major is readying up for the Maruti S-Cross’s soft launch by utilizing the platform of the 2015 IIFA Awards which will be taking place on 7th of June, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Following its Indian pre-launch showcase at the IIFA awards, which will be the major promotional campaign for the vehicle’s Indian launch, the car is expected to hit the Indian car market within the month of July, according to sources.
