Maruti Suzuki recalls 69,555 cars to rectify a problem with the wiring harness
India`s largest car manufacturer in terms of sales volume, Maruti Suzuki has recalled 69,555 vehicles to rectify a problem with the wiring harness in their cars. This particular recall is related to the swift (12,486 units), Dzire (55,938 units) and Ritz (1,131 units) manufactured during March 8th 2010 and August 11, 2013.
The Indian car manufacturer claims that the issue with the wiring harness was identified by internal checks made the company and feedback monitoring. Maruti says that the dealerships will contact owners of the affected cars and the wiring harness will be inspected by the workshop technicians. The necessary repairs will be done free of cost. Owners can also log onto the company`s website and check if their vehicle is affected with the problem by entering the car`s chassis no. followed by a 14-digit alphanumeric number in the field provided. Customers can also take their vehicles to the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealership to get their cars inspected.
