Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift Indian launch on 10th October

2015 Suzuki Ertiga unveiled at GIIAS

Ever since Maruti Suzuki launched the Ertiga in the country more than three years back, there has been no looking back for the MPV. It has been doing well in the MPV segment since the beginning, clocking good numbers month after month. In order to keep things fresh for their sole product in the MPV space, Maruti Suzuki will soon be updating the Ertiga in India.

The Ertiga facelift that will be making it to our shores was revealed globally at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show last month. Changes on the appearance front comes in the form of a new chrome grille that sits boldly between the headlights, tweaked front bumper design with new fog lamp enclosures that features chrome inserts, new alloy wheel design, red inserts on the tailgate, a big chrome bar over the number plate housing and a mildly redesigned rear bumper as well.

The interiors will also be updated much to the satisfaction of prospective buyers. Changes come in the form of new fabric upholstery, keyless entry, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, electrically folding ORVMs, engine start-stop button and a 50:50 split rear seat.

The Ertiga facelift will become the second vehicle from the Maruti stable to feature the SHVS hybrid technology that was recently launched with the Ciaz. The SHVS system comes mated to the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Petrol power will come from the existing 1.4-litre K-series motor. Prices for the diesel variants are likely to drop thanks to the incentives that the hybrid system gets from the Government of India. However, prices of the petrol variant are expected to remain the same.

Once launched in the country, the Ertiga facelift will be a value for money proposition as compared to its immediate rivals including the likes of the Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy and the Renault Lodgy.
