Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Hybrid) SHVS to launch soon in India
Maruti rejuvenated its status as a premium car maker in India with the Ciaz sedan. The Ciaz stacked up quite a few bookings for the company and continues to do well in the market, save for the last month or so. Rivaling the segment leader Honda City, the Maruti offering has only been second best in contrast to what the company was hoping for (the number one spot).
In what comes as a surprising update, Maruti Suzuki will soon be launching a Ciaz hybrid called the Ciaz SHVS. Yes, you read it right! The Indian car major kept the hybrid model under wraps without revealing anything to the public. The upcoming hybrid variant will help the Ciaz to deliver improved fuel efficiency figures which is expected to sail past the 30 km/l mark. This is due to the fact that the Ciaz hybrid will be powered the by 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel mill.
Spy pictures of the Ciaz hybrid are doing its rounds on the internet with the vehicle having already arrived at company dealerships. The hybrid will come with a new variant – Vdi+ that will come equipped with ABS with EBD and steering mounted audio controls with Bluetooth buttons. This variant is expected to be priced about Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- more than the standard diesel variant. This will become the most affordable hybrid car in India till date, which is quite a feat.
The Ciaz SHVS gets steel rims and a SHVS badge in the boot on the exterior front. Maruti Suzuki will also be equipping all variants of the Ciaz sedan with a driver side airbag. This comes as good news considering the fact that everyone is looking to opt for safer vehicles in the market nowadays. No further details of the Ciaz hybrid is available as of now, so stay tuned to MotorCruze for the latest updates.
