Maruti S-Cross vs Hyundai Creta vs Renault Duster – Price Comparison
As everyone is aware, two new vehicles including the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta recently made their entry into the very competitive compact SUV segment in India. Both these vehicles have been warmly received, stacking up many bookings. With the entry of these models into the market, the segment now offers a wide range of choices for customers opting to buy a compact SUV. However, customers often get confused as to which product to total down to and much of this decision in India is based on the vehicle’s price tag. Therefore, we bring you the price comparison between the segment king, the Renault Duster and two other latest kids on the block – Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta.
On the looks department many would consider the Creta to be the winner because it received numerous bookings even before its specifications were revealed. Though it’s much fresher, the Maruti S-Cross’ design is a bit of a letdown and works against its favor up to some extent. The Duster has now aged in India and it’s the least favorable looking car among the three. The Creta wins on the interior and features domain as well, with the S-Cross coming in at second place by a very small margin. The Duster’s interiors has always been lacking something special and it loses out to the new products hands down.
On the mechanical front, Creta’s 1.6-litre diesel (128 PS) mill beats the S-Cross’ 1.6-litre diesel (120 PS) engine by producing 8 PS of additional power. The top end variant of the Duster produces 110 PS on the other hand. Prices (on-road, Mumbai) of the three vehicles are as follows:

The S-Cross’ base variant is the most affordable while the Creta’s base trim is the most expensive of the three. The S-Cross’ top end trim is most expensive while top variant of the Duster is the least expensive of the lot. We are ignoring prices of the mid variants due to the fact that each car has different number of variants on offer.
