Maruti Ertiga facelift spied testing ahead of 20th August unveil
One of the most favourite MPV’s in the Indian market, the Maruti Ertiga has been doing well in the market ever since it made its debut back in 2012. The MPV has been keeping the company very much alive in the segment and has consistently been able to overpower the not so successful Honda Mobilio, which is its main rival.
Anyhow, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is now three years old and is in desperate need of an update. The facelift model will be unveiled globally at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Autos Show (GIIAS) on 20th August. Test mules of the facelift has just been spied testing revealing many of the details that are expected on the production model. Though the mule was completely camouflaged, many of the changes expected on the facelift have been revealed.
The front grille is going to be a new unit, getting a three slat chrome setup. The front bumper will be restyled and will feature new airdams and fog lamp enclosures that get eyebrow like chrome strips on top. The rear end is not likely to receive many changes, save for a thick chrome slat running over the number plate housing. The side profile will also remain unchanged except for new wheel cap and alloy wheel designs.
Under the hood, the Maruti Ertiga facelift will continue to draw power from the same 1.4-litre K-series petrol and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engines. Fuel efficiency figures are expected to change for the better. Maruti will be hoping that their MPV continues its good run in the market and holds up against its rivals including the likes of the Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy, Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova and others.
