Maruti Ciaz SHVS (hybrid) will be available in VDI, ZDI and ZDI+ trims
Maruti will soon be launching the Ciaz SHVS hybrid in the country. The Ciaz diesel hybrid will replace the existing Ciaz diesel model. The car will be available in three variants VDI, ZDI and ZDI+.
The Ciaz SHVS`s interiors and exteriors look similar to the outgoing diesel model. The main difference lies under the bonnet, where the Ciaz SHVS features an integrated starter system with brake energy recuperation. What this system does is, it converts the energy generated by the moving wheels into electrical current for charging the battery. Fuel efficiency is further enhanced by a start-stop system which aids in increasing the mileage when the vehicle is not in motion.
The top spec variants will get features like keyless entry, electronically adjustable ORVMs, rear sunshade, reverse parking camera, steering mounted audio controls and a 7 inch touch screen SmartPlay infotainment system. The hybrid technology is expected to enhance the fuel efficiency of the sedan, and reports suggest it would gain 4 Km per litre over the outgoing model.
Maruti showrooms have started accepting bookings for the Ciaz SHVS for an amount of Rs. 11,000. Deliveries are expected to start by the end of August, and Maruti is offering a discount of Rs, 40,000 on the regular diesel Ciaz to clear the inventory.
