Mahindra TUV300 launching on 10th September, new images revealed
We had earlier reported about the upcoming Mahindra TUV300 launching in September, but a new report on Autocar India mentions that the compact SUV will be launched on September 10, 2015. Mahindra has also revealed a new production spec image of the vehicle which shows the front section of the SUV till the A-pillar.
From the spyshots it is clear that the Mahindra TUV300 has a boxy design, which is quite surprising as today`s SUV and crossovers feature bold and sporty styling. It measures under 4-metres in length, while the overall design language is reminiscent of the Bolero.
Latest spyshots reveal that the compact SUV gets three rows of seating, with the last row featuring a single jump seat on either side. Being under 4-metres, we doubt if the vehicle can seat a full sized adult in the last row.
Interior sypshots reveal the instrument dials get chrome bezels and steering mounted audio controls for the infotainment system. We expect the top trim to be loaded with features such as AUX/USB ports, Bluetooth audio and telephony, infotainment system with a dedicated display and many more.
Powering the Mahindra TUV300 is the new mHawk 80 diesel motor which is downsized version of the 2.2 litre mHwak engine. The engine will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. An AMT gearbox could also be offered as an option.
When launched the TUV300 will fight it out with the popular Ford Ecosport in the compact SUV segment. Expect prices to be in the range of Rs. 6.5 – 9 lakhs (ex-showroom). Mahindra also plans to export the TUV300 to countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Philippines, and South Africa.
