Mahindra TUV300 launched in India priced from Rs. 6.9 lakhs
Mahindra has finally launched its much anticipated compact SUV, TUV300 in the Indian market. Rivalling the very successful Ford EcoSport in the segment, the TUV300 carries an aggressive price tag ranging from Rs. 6.9 lakhs to Rs. 9.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). The “true-Blue” SUV gets its design inspiration from a tank and it surely looks like a tough vehicle in the line-up with the full form of ‘T’ from its name.
The SUV derives power from a freshly developed 1.5-litre mHawk80 three-cylinder engine that churns out 84 BHP on the manual variants and 81 BHP with the AMT trims. The torque figure is a segment-leading 230 Nm and the fuel efficiency figure stands at an ARAI certified 18.49 km/l. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AutoShift (Automated Manual Transmission) unit.
Mahindra TUV300 Exterior
On first look, the Mahindra TUV300 compact SUV looks very boxy, that carries a bit of a similarity with the Bolero. The front grille looks like a direct rip-off from the Jeep stable, while the front bumper gets a masculine styling with a rectangular airdam and fog lamps. The rear profile is probably the best part of the design with Quanto like taillights and a tailgate mounted spare wheel. The side profile features roof rails, good looking wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels and blackened pillars for giving a floating roof like appearance. The latest Mahindra on the block is offered in 7 exterior colour options – Red, Blue, Orange, Black, White, Silver and a special made to order combat green. A range of exterior add-ons are also available in form of an optional armour kit.
Mahindra TUV300 Interior
Coming to the interiors, the cabin has a well sorted design in line with the new Mahindra theme which debuted with the latest Scorpio. Featuring a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme with brushed silver inserts, the cabin is a good place to be and is actually the best part of the compact SUV. The seven seater can seat five adults comfortably with the two rear jump seats only suitable for children. The TUV300 comes with a lot of equipment including the likes of a 2-din infotainment system with USB/AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, follow-me-home lights, static bending headlights, reverse parking assist, power windows, lead-me-to-vehicle headlights and electrically adjustable side rear view mirrors.
Mahindra TUV300 Technology & Safety features
Other than these, the TUV300 is offered with a Micro Hybrid Technology and ECO mode for boosting fuel efficiency figures. What’s good is the fact that Mahindra is offering ABS with EBD and two airbags as optional from the base variant itself.
