Mahindra teases XUV Aero Coupe-SUV concept, showcase at 2016 Auto Expo
Mahindra is working on future products that will help them cement their space as one of the leading utility vehicle manufacturers not just in India, but all over the world. This plan is working out as well given the fact that the company is investing a lot of time and money in developing unique products that will enable them to increase their market share. The Nashik based company has just revealed a sketch of its upcoming concept car – XUV Aero Coupe-SUV concept.
Based on the popular XUV500, the concept will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in a few days’ time. Mahindra seems to be working hard on the design aspect of each of its models. This is mainly due to the fact that the XUV500 became a massive hit for them mainly due to its design. Same can be said for the new generation Scorpio and TUV300 as well. This new ideology has made them take over famous Italian design house Pininfarina.
Even though Mahindra owns Pininfarina, the XUV Aero Coupe-SUV concept has been designed in-house by the company’s designers in Mumbai. However, they surely would have taken a few inputs from the newly acquired design masterminds as this was the case for the TUV300 and KUV100 as well. Talking about the vehicle’s design, the teaser image majorly shows the side profile which gets masculine flared wheel arches with prominent lines running down the side. The roofline slopes down elegantly. The front end features a curvy bonnet, while the rear gets a very sporty and aggressive design.
Proud of its latest design, Mahindra will be showcasing the XUV Aero Coupe-SUV concept on the second day of the motoring event (4th February). They will also be putting a stall up to give all visitors a feeling of how the car was designed from ground up. The coupe-styled SUV market is still unpopulated as compared to the conventional SUV segments. Majorly governed by the BMW X6, it will be interesting to see how Mahindra will position the XUV Aero Coupe-SUV in the market. But we do expect this to be one hell of a looker.
