Mahindra Mojo launched in India, priced at Rs. 1.58 lakhs
After years of development and testing, Mahindra has finally launched the much anticipated Mojo in the country. Priced at Rs. 1.58 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mojo has been made for one sole purpose, to offer good touring capabilities while also carrying a very stylish street fighter design. The Indian manufacturer has launched the bike near the festive season, which is a good marketing move. Mahindra is retailing the Mojo in three different colours – Charcoal Black, Glacier White and Volcano Red.
Overall, the Mojo can be termed as a good looking bike. The front end is unique featuring a twin-pod headlamp design with eyebrow shaped LED daytime running lights. The front cowl looks very nice as well and suits the contrasting coloured upside-down forks. Side profile looks very smart with those unique panels, dual exhausts, a comfortable seat and upright riding position. The taillight has an LED unit, which is not overdone and looks well sorted.
The bike puts out a good 28 PS of power and a segment best 30 Nm of torque with the 295cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. A 6-speed gearbox comes mated to this engine. Retarding power comes from a big (largest in segment) 320mm disc up front. The other surprise addition includes Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres, which actually is sold with motorcycles that sit in higher segments than the Mojo.
At present Mahindra is not offering ABS with the motorcycle, but the same is expected to be made available in the coming future. In the initial phase, the company is only retailing the Mojo in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. The tourer will lock its horns with the KTM Duke 200, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 and the Honda CBR250R in the price segment. It must be mentioned that the Mojo is a very good option to consider given the unique characteristics that is offers in addition to a big engine.
