Mahindra Mojo ABS variant spied, launch likely in 2016
At the launch of the Mahindra Mojo back in October, the company had hinted at bringing an ABS equipped version of the bike in the following months. Testifying the company’s intent, a test mule featuring makeshift ABS brake circuit and testing equipment was spotted recently. Speculations opine that Mahindra is planning to source the ABS kit for Mojo from Continental and most probably it is going to be a dual-channel version. Moreover, the makeshift equipment will also be connected to the rear brake. More spy shots of the test mule are expected to emerge ahead of the launch giving a glimpse of the final product. The company may launch ABS equipped Mojo in 2016 costing Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 more than the regular version.
Belonging to the 300cc segment, the Mahindra Mojo comes with an agile braking system from J.Juan featuring a single disc at the front and rear wheel. The bike scores well on the performance front, but the only thing that disappoints is the rear wheel that gets locked easily. With the introduction of the anti-lock-braking system, this problem will be rectified. The kerb weight is expected to increase by 2 to 3 kgs due to addition of new components.
As for the regular variant, the Mahindra Mojo houses a single cylinder, liquid cooled 300cc engine pumping out peak power of 28 PS along with 30 Nm of twisting force. A six-speed transmission is paired to the engine.
