Mahindra E2o UK launch price is £ 12,995
Last month Elon Musk launched the Tesla Model 3, and the world went crazy about it. This electric car received more than 2 lakh bookings from all over the world. The deliveries will begin somewhere in 2018.
Meanwhile, Indian automotive giant Mahindra & Mahindra launched their electric car the e2o in the UK on 18th April. The e2o is the first electric car from Mahindra and yet they have managed to do a great job. The e2o will be available in two variants, City and TechX.
The E2o City is the base variant with prices starting at £ 12,995 (Rs 12.25 lakhs) for which you get push button start, fog lamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), heated power steering, fabric seats, tyre pressure management, boost mode, power windows and electrically adjustable mirrors. On the safety front the car comes equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and dual Airbags.
While the TechX variant is priced at £ 15,995 (Rs. 15.09 lakh), it comes loaded with some additional features like air conditioning, leather seats, speed limiter, alloy wheels, rear windscreen wiper, a Blaupunkt 6.2 inch touch-screen infotainment system, Wi-Fi hotspot, reversing camera, satellite navigation, steering mounted controls for the infotainment system, telematics and e2o remote smartphone app.
Both variants, the City as well as the TechX get the same 31 kW (42 bhp) electric motor that produces 91 Nm of torque, 0-100, nope, 0- 80 kmph takes about 18 seconds while the top speed is 101 kmph (63 mph). The electric motor is driven by a 13.9 kWh maintenance-free 69 cell lithium-ion battery pack. With a full battery charge the E2o can travel 127 kms (about 79 miles). A Full charge takes about nine hours. Both variants come with Regenerative Braking System (RBS). The TechX variant comes with a fast charging port (50 kW DC) which allows you to charge 90 % of the battery in just 90 minutes, it even comes with Remote Charging Scheduler app and Revive remote emergency recharging.
