Lamborghini Huracan Spyder to launch on May 5 in India
Ever since spy pictures of the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder emerged in December 2015, we have been curious when the supercar will be launched here. We finally do have a clarity on the launch date of the much awaited supercar, the Huracan Spyder will drive into the domestic market on May 5, 2016. Going by the Italian super carmaker’s definition, the Huracan Spyder has been exclusively designed to cut through the air and become one with the sky. The new Spyder is a convertible model of the standard Huracan, it is a streamlined beauty having raw power and exquisite finishing.
The Italian carmaker will be inaugurating its new showroom in Prabhadevi area in Mumbai, that’s where the Huracan Spyder will make its Indian debut. Owing to the carbon-fibre and hybrid aluminium frame and the aluminium and composite material body, the supercar has a robust structure. The Huracan Spyder weighs 120 kg more than the standard model, the total dry weight of the car is 1542 kg. The dual hydraulic circuit brake system along with the vacuum brake booster takes care of the braking power. The 20-inch front and rear wheels is enveloped with Pirelli Pzero tyres measuring 245/30 at front and 305/30 at the rear.
Just like the regular Lamborghini Huracan, the Spyder too is equipped with a 5.2-L naturally aspirated engine. The V10 unit has the capacity to deliver massive power output of 610 bhp at 8250 rpm and maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6500 rpm. The tried and tested LDF 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is seen doing duty, the shift characteristics variable along with the Drive Select Mode enables the Raging Bull to shoot from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. The supercar features the latest technical updates like ‘cylinder-on-demand’ function and also a ‘stop-start’ system.
Talking about the safety features, the car is equipped with front adaptive passenger airbag and front dual stage driver airbag, also seats with side airbags. The mean machine is expected to be launched at a price tag of around 3.5 crore.
