Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster makes international debut at Pebble Beach
Lamborghini has unveiled what might be called as one of the best SV models to roll off the company’s production line. The topless Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster has just been showcased at Pebble Beach, California and the amazing looking super car has the speed to match as well.
It derives power from the 6.5-litre V12 engine that is also found on the Aventador SV Coupe. This motor bangs out a massive 740 BHP of power at 8400 RPM. The overall weight of the vehicle stands at 1575 kgs, which is 50 kgs less than the standard Aventador Roadster but also 50 kgs more than the SV coupe.
As this model misses out on a roof, the vehicle completes the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 2.9 seconds instead of 2.8 seconds in the SV Coupe. The drop in performance figures is not that much significant because the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster can reach a top speed of over 350 km/hr, which quite a lot when compared to other cars.
On the design front, Lamborghini has performed many changes inside the wind tunnel to make the removable hard top panels as aerodynamic as possible. Also, each of these panels weighs less than 6 kgs (wow!). This is due to the fact that they are made from carbon fibre, finished in a matte black colour.
All the other mechanicals are directly picked up from the SV Coupe including direct-steer and adaptive dampers. The interiors are also the same including the likes of Alcantara leather upholstery, single carbon seats and loads of buttons. The vehicle is retailed in just five exterior colours, but one can simply do anything that they wish to, given the range of detailing options that the very expensive super car (£350,000 – approximately Rs. 5.5 crore) offers.
Only 500 examples of the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster will be made and deliveries will commence in the beginning of 2016.
