KTM records highest sales in 2014!
The year 2014 has been extraordinary for the Austrian bike company KTM. They recorded a ground shattering sales of 1,58,760 units worldwide. That’s a lot of volume for a bike manufacturer. KTM is known to make sturdy bikes, which have visual appeal as well as performance dynamics. The company recorded a 28.2 % growth as compared to 2013. That number itself is outstanding!
The Bajaj-KTM alliance played a major part in ensuring the company made such high sales over the past one year. They introduced KTM bikes at the right time in the Indian market. Owing to localization of most of the parts, the company could keep the costs down. This gave the Indian youth a chance to own an affordable track oriented bike. This contributed a lot of volume to the domestic sales, making it top out at 1,58,760 units!
KTM had purchased Husqvarna (previously owned by BMW), which also helped add a few numbers to the sales figure. Almost all the companies made record-breaking sales. Triumph especially recorded its highest sales since its re-introduction. KTM generated an annual revenue of – 973.9 $ million, which is up almost 21% in comparison to last year. This scale is only set to go upwards, as KTM has plans to introduce new models into its catalogue soon. The KTM bikes have been a major success in the country. Bikes ranging from the KTM Duke 200 to the RC390 all have made their way to an enthusiast’s garage without complaints. The only issue some bikes have is over-heating in traffic, but nothing else.
Here’s looking forward to newer KTM models on our streets!
