KTM RC 200 and RC 390 All Set To Burn Rubber on 9th September

KTM RC 1

KTM RC 390 is scheduled to launch on 9th September. Now we have news that the RC 200 will also debut along with its elder sibling on the same day. Since KTM is associated with Bajaj it is only natural to expect the launch to be held in Pune. Keep your fingers crossed about the reception these two bikes will receive in the market, though bookings for both have started requiring you to pay Rs. 30,000 as deposit.

The main reason is the pricing. RC 200 is expected to be priced around Rs. 2 lakhs. The RC 390 is a bit more expensive at Rs. 2.5 lakhs or thereabouts. KTMs are all about performance and ride quality especially in the dirt bike segment where it reigned supreme. In recent years KTM have put out street bikes with the same performance. The RC 200 engine produces 25 HP while the RC 390 puts out 43 HP. Both engines work in tandem with a 6 speed gearbox for smooth power distribution. The RC 390 has anti-lock braking system. Both get full fairing, twin headlights, tighter suspension up front for city rides and new mirrors. As is to be expected both bikes carry the distinctive trade mark KTM orange coloring in the wheels. The RCs build on the bare bones Dukes with fairing that contributes to a more aerodynamic ride quality.

The going will be tough with the Kawasaki Ninja and Honda CBR250R posing competition for the RCs.
