KTM Duke 800 with new twin cylinder motor engine snapped for the first time
Renderings of the KTM Duke 800 have been doing the rounds on the internet since last week. Actually, the rendering is based on a real spy shot of the motorcycle that was shown in the German magazine called Motorrad. Spy shots of the Duke 800 from the magazine are now finally available.
The company’s President and CEO hinted towards launching two new two-cylinder bikes that will come powered with 500cc and 800cc engines in the international market. According to the latest reports, these motorcycles will be coming soon. Talking about the more powerful bike and going by the way KTM names its products, the production version might be titled as the Duke 790 or even the KTM Duke 800.
Judging from the spy shots, the bike will carry the conventional street-fighter looks that other bikes from the Duke series carry as well. It looks very similar to the Duke 690 and comes with the usual upside down front suspension, dual-channel ABS, two disc brakes at the front and much more. The headlight carries KTM’s signature looks and same is the case with the tail end as well.
The upcoming Duke will most likely be powered by a new 800cc parallel twin-cylinder engine that is likely to offer sheer power which is similar to that of the Super Duke. The bike will not feature an underbelly exhaust like the smaller Duke 200 and Duke 390.
No details about the 500cc Duke have surfaced as of now, but both the new motorcycles are expected to be launched by the end of 2016 or beginning of 2017. Both of them are expected to be produced in India as well, at the company’s plant in Chakan. Therefore, these bikes might be launched in India and boy oh boy, KTM is really taking the market (both international and Indian) very seriously.
