Kawasaki Ninja 650 vs. Benelli TNT 600GT vs. Upcoming Honda CBR 650F : Tech Spec Comparo
With a slow start in the automotive industry last year, things seemed to have changed this year. With the two-wheeler segment being the backbone of the automobile sector, we can expect the competition to get hotter in 2015. In the middleweight tourer segment, Kawasaki Ninja 650 has always been on the top of the list, but looks like it is soon going to be hit by a strong new competitor, with the launch of Honda CBR650F making its way to the Indian shores this year. While the Benelli TNT 600 GT has already been launched in the country, Honda’s new bike is on its way, and with the Kawasaki Ninja 650 already dominating the tourer scene in India, it is imperative that we do a spec comparo of the three bikes to actually find out who the winner is on paper.
Out of the three motorcycles, the Honda CBR650F stands out as the most powerful one with its 649 cc 4-cylinder engine churning out 87 PS of power @ 11,000 rpm. While the Benelli TNT 600 GT makes it to the second position with its 600 cc 4-cylinder mill churning 85 PS @ 11,500 rpm, the Kawasaki Ninja 650 with its 649 cc motor churns out 72 PS of power @ 8.500 rpm making it to the third spot.
While the Kawasaki Ninja 650 makes it to the third position in terms of power, it rules the list with its massive 66NM of torque @ 7,000 rpm. While the Honda CBR650F makes it to the second spot delivering 62 NM of torque, the Benelli TNT 600 GT takes the third position with a comparatively low torque output of 54.6 Nm @10,500 rpm.
While all the three bikes are somewhat similar in dimensions in terms of their length, the Benelli TNT 600 GT is the longest of the lot measuring 2150 mm. The Honda and Kawasaki Ninja 650 are 2100mm long. In terms of ground clearance, the Benelli TNT 600 GT has the best ground clearance of 150mm. Kawasaki Ninja 650 has the second best ground clearance of 145mm, while the Honda CBR650F has the least ground clearance of only 130mm.
The upcoming Honda CBR650F is expected to be priced around Rs. 8 lakh which is surely an expensive affair as compared to the rest of the two models. The Benelli TNT 600 GT is priced at Rs. 5.60 lakhs, making it more expensive than the Kawasaki Ninja 650 which is worth every penny at Rs. 5.30 lakh. What needs a special mention here is, you get an inline-four cylinder motorbike ”Benelli” for the extra 30,000 bucks. The choice is yours!
