Jaguar officially reveals its new 2016 XE
Indian auto major Tata Motor’s owned luxury car brand Jaguar has gone ahead officially revealing its new 2016 XE model after a series of elaborate promotional activities to build up enough buzz and to project the car right. The high flying promotions for the new 2016 Jaguar XE involved the cars displayed to the public while being suspended from helicopters that were hovering over the London sky, followed by a splendid live performance by Emile Sande on the picturesque banks of the Thames.
This new Jaguar XE is the Indian Tata Motors owned British luxury car maker’s latest as well as the smallest offering. The new 2016 Jaguar XE is going to come to the market in order to fight with the likes of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series in the international car markets. The new XE will be offered for sale in the car markets of India, Europe and other car markets in the first half of 2015, while the North American market will get it in 2016.
The Jaguar XE will come with its extensive luxurious styling, though it’s a bit of a conservative car, and looks very similar to the larger XF model. It gets the patent character lines which are classy and the XE proportions are really striking. The XE gets a patent Jaguar face with stylish and sophisticated slim headlights and the mesh front grille. The beautiful car with its slopping roofline ends in a comparatively ordinary styled rear end featuring tail lights with LED lamps. The Jaguar XE features a rather safe styling and doesn’t wish to wow the audience at first glance, but a very classy and high-end appeal with great alloy wheels and kit, which are particularly impressive on the car’s S variant. The XE`s overall styling is very impressive.
It seems that the new XE is also following in the footsteps of the XF and XJ which have gone ahead with similar styling template in order to conserve the Jaguar brand identity. Whether this is good or bad depends on individual choice.
Jaguar’s design boss, Ian Callum said that the company’s mission was to create an exciting and vibrant design reflecting the XE’s status of a serious driver’s car. The car’s proportions and stiff packaging prove that point and lend the XE an ever moving appearance even when it’s totally standing still. The XE bears strong resemblance to the family F-TYPE and is meant to stand out in crowd.
On the inside, the new Jaguar XE is full again with the company’s patent elements such as F-TYPE inspired instrument cluster and trendy drive selector knob. The center console is conservative but very smartly styled. The car gets a new infotainment system “InControl” with a large 8 inch touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity, remote controlled door locking/unlocking system and engine start-stop, seven-day pre-setting climate control system, and Jaguar’s InControl Apps that let the users seamlessly access the smartphone apps via the car’s touchscreen.
