2016 Indian Scout Sixty India launch in July
Polaris India announced recently that it will be carrying forward the rich heritage of Indian Scout with the 2016 Indian Scout Sixty. The all-new Scout Sixty is synonymous to the swiftness, authenticity and craftsmanship of the legendary Scout. Indian Motorcycle has changed the game plan by slicing down a big chunk of the retail price and the victim this time happens to be its direct competitor Harley Davidson. Now what exactly gives the Scout Sixty an upper hand? The answer is its sporty character that has history of writing success across the world.
The modern Scout has been named after the pre-war model that made its first appearance in 2014 at Sturgis. Being the best Indian motorcycle it was awarded with ‘Cruiser of the Year’ title; it became an overnight sensation for being one of the fastest selling motorcycle in Indian’s history. The Scout Sixty will ride into the domestic market by July 2016 and will be offered in three classic colour options namely Pearl White, Thunder Black and Indian Motorcycle Red. The affordable cruiser bike will have a sticker price of 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Just like its sibling, the modern Scout too has a similar engine, chassis, brakes and suspension. The 999cc engine delivers modest power of 78 PS and peak torque of 88 Nm. A V-twin 60-degree motor has been coupled with a 5-speed transmission. The Sixty will be seen sporting a black seat with matching alloy wheels and frame. Expect the 642.62 mm low seat height of the Scout Sixty to offer maximum comfort. What`s more the Scout offers 200 accessories which will be compatible with the modern Sixty too.
