Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 CNG variants introduced in India
Korean car maker, Hyundai Motor India Ltd is now offering the Grand i10 and Xcent with CNG kits. The CNG variant costs Rs. 65,000 more than the price of the petrol variant you choose to buy. The Hyundai Grand i10 was earlier available with an LPG kit, but the company discontinued it due to less demand.
The cars are fitted with CNG kits that feature a “Dual ECU Dynamic Sequential technology”. The DEDST technology helps in sending ideal flow of gas to the engine, thus aiding in providing sufficient power and performance at all times. To provide the consumers a peaceful ownership experience, the company is offering a two years unlimited kilometres warranty for the CNG kitted cars.
The petrol powered Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 get their juice from a 1.2 litre Kappa engine that belts out 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of twisting force. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 5-speed transmission. Expect a negligible drop in performance of the gasoline motor when equipped with the CNG kit.
There is also a Diwali offer on both the cars, with discounts ranging from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 51,000.
