Hyundai India axes Elite i20`s feature list
Hyundai Motor India Limited has tasted success with the Elite i20 in the Indian market. The premium hatchback is the highest selling car in its segment. However, the Korean carmaker is employing cost cutting methods and has recently revised the feature list on the Elite i20. The Sportz Trim is the most affected model after the update – it now misses the boot lamp and the driver`s side automatic pinch guard window. Earlier the car was offered with two foldable keys but now it will only get a single foldable key and a regular spare key. The Sportz and Sportz (O) model will now miss out on the leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
A few other changes have also been made and the slot under the climate control used for storing pamphlets, tickets and cards has been omitted from all Elite i20 variants. The Magna variant does not lose out on any features while Hyundai drops the passenger side vanity mirror on the Era trim.
The range topping Asta variant is also not spared and loses the power outlet at the rear. However, the company offers new seat fabric on all models of the premium hatchback. Though there has been no reduction in prices, Hyundai India will soon be introducing a touch screen infotainment system on the i20 in the coming days.
