Hyundai Elite i20 receives 56,000 bookings in just 4 months
South Korean car major, Hyundai Motor has hit the jackpot with its second generation i20. Named as the Hyundai Elite i20, the new-gen i20 premium hatchback made its world debut in India, much like the all new i10 that is known as the Grand i10 here. Hyundai which is the second largest car maker in India has tasted instant success with its all new Elite i20, and the demand for the car is on the rise. The new premium hatchback has created a new record for the company in terms of sales.
The new Elite i20 is the first car model from Hyundai India to have recorded bookings of 56,000 units within just 4 months of its official market launch. This was proudly stated by the South Korean car maker in a company press release. The Hyundai Elite i20 launched in India on 11th of August this year, much ahead of its debut in the international car markets. However, the car saw spiraling demands with the bookings peaking in the month of November. The Elite i20’s sales jumped to 10,500 units in the month of November as compared against the sale of 8895 units in the month of October. Hyundai India contemplates increasing the production capacity of the new Elite i20 in order to make it more easily obtainable for the customers and to cater to the growing demands. At present, the premium hatchback model has a waiting period of more than four months.
The Hyundai Elite i20 within the second month of its market launch in India managed to make its place into the top 10 most selling car models in the country. The premium hatchback is an entirely new car excepting the engine range and flaunts the company’s world acclaimed Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy’s latest 2.0 version. With its sharp and bold looks, the car has managed to charm the global audience’s attention and has curved a niche for itself in terms of visual appeal. The new Elite i20 is an example of the great design appeal that Hyundai will offer in its upcoming global offerings.
The Hyundai Elite i20 is also fully loaded with an array of premium features and has become even more feature-rich than before. The car’s overall premium look and feel has also increased a lot.On achieving this milestone, Hyundai India’s Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava said that the demand for the Elite i20 has doubled and it sold 10,500 units in November. The company is working on increasing the car’s production in order to cater to the growing demands and to ensure faster deliveries to make the customers happy. The Elite i20 is offered in both petrol and diesel versions and delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.60 kmpl in its petrol avatar, and 22.54 kmpl for its diesel version.
