Hyundai Elite i20 and i20 Active now come with touchscreen infotainment units
Hyundai’s turn around in the Indian car market has been a true success story that many car majors across the world can look up to without any shame. The Korean car maker was nowhere when talking about market share a decade back, but look at them now. Hyundai’s new Fluidic 2.0 design scheme has got our country going gaga over all products coming from the company’s stable. Not to forget, Hyundai’s after sales service and experience has also been very good and these aspects have together helped in making the brand India’s number two car manufacturer in terms of sales.
However, there is another reason for the company’s growth in India, which is the number of features offered on every vehicle. We Indians love to get the most bang for our bucks and this property of an average Indian customer has been well understood by Hyundai, who is taking the utmost advantage.
One of the most famous Hyundai hatchback model is the i20. The recently launched Elite i20 premium hatchback is currently the best seller in its respective segment, but is now facing stiff competition in the form of the Honda Jazz. The i20 actually had the weaker hand until now due to the fact that it did not come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment unit, which the Jazz does feature. Therefore, Hyundai has updated the top end trims of the both the Elite i20 premium hatchback and i20 Active crossover with a 7-inch AVN touchscreen infotainment unit.
The Asta (O) variant of the Elite i20 and SX trim of the i20 Active borrow the new AVN unit directly from the Verna sedan featuring the usual AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The unit also doubles up to display the rear camera while the vehicle is reversing, which was earlier displayed in the rear-view mirror. Hyundai has been quick with these updates, ensuring that their two i20’s do not lose out in the extremely competitive segment which will soon be getting the Maruti YRA hatch as well.
