Hyundai Creta (ix25) India launch on 21st July 2015
The much awaited Creta(ix25) compact SUV from Hyundai will be launching in India (it will also be the vehicle’s world premier) on 21st July 2015, according to a report by the Economic Times. The company seems to be going all out with the vehicle as a result of which its launch has been preponed. Hyundai is looking to capitalize on the upcoming festive season to get sales going for the Creta SUV.
According to sources, the launch has been advanced by a period of 2 months. Due to this, the Korean giant has also brought the date of production for the SUV forward to meet the initial sales demand. The first lot of the Creta SUV will be rolling out from the company’s plant in Chennai by 20th June 2015 onwards.
The Creta will be powered by one petrol and two diesel engines that are also found on the Verna. These include a 1.6-litre VTVT petrol, 1.6-litre CRDi diesel and a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit as well. Hyundai is hoping that the Creta will carve out another success story for the Koreans in the Indian market. The company followed the same strategy of launching a vehicle first in India with the Grand i10 as well and is hoping that the upcoming SUV will also be as successful if not more than the hatchback.
