Honda CRF1000L African Twin to hit the European market by late 2015
After the Japanese manufacturer unveiled its Adventure prototype at the 2014 EICMA in Milan, it comes as an update from Honda that it will launch the CRF1000L Africa Twin in the European market by late 2015.
With this, Honda also mentioned that the original attributes of the XRV650 Africa Twin launched in HRC in 1988 and the XRV750 produced in 1989 will be maintained in the upcoming African Twin model. The company will also incorporate all that it has learnt over (inclusive of the 2013 Dakar experience) in this new CRF1000L African Twin. There is no official confirmation if the Japanese automaker is planning to launch the bike in other markets or not.
Mechanically, Honda has powered the bike with a 1000cc parallel twin mill which comes mated to Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). As per the image, the model is in its production stage and features twin headlamps as well as the LED indicators. To add to this, the panel on either side of the motorcycle will also make the look of this adventure bike appealing.
If at all it is launched in the Indian market, it will give tough competition to the other adventure bikes in India like the Triumph Tiger 800 XCx, Suzuki V-Strom 1000, BMW R1200 GS Adventure as well as the Ducati Multistrada. Till then, let’s wait for the next news update from Honda, regarding the CRF1000L African Twin.
