Honda Civic Tourer Active Life concept to be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show
The Honda Civic has always been a fan favourite. The car has been around for quite sometime, but still manages to steel hearts years after its launch. Now Honda has gone ahead and made a Honda Civic Tourer Active Life concept, which shows that they can create a stylish car with ample amount of space.
The car is aimed at people who have an active lifestyle. Those people who like to live in the outdoors and need a tough vehicle with space to go along with it. The vehicle has 1668 litres of boot space after folding the seats down. It can easily accommodate two bicycles and a retractable arm makes repair and maintenance of the bicycles easy.
To keep up with the owner’s lifestyle the car comes loaded with accessories. It has a shade area and a retractable bench, which makes repairs easier. An air pump along with a toolbox makes sure you’ll never be in a sticky situation. Light in the tailgate area ensures there’s enough illumination to get the work done.
The roof of the vehicle sports an aero box designed to hold the owners helmets and shoes etc safely, and also not interfere with the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
On the exterior, the sleek design of the Honda Civic Tourer Active Life gets a custom blue paintjob on the body, and a sleek silver finish on the rooftop of the vehicle. The 18-inch wheels give it an aggressive yet sporty look. The front bumper and rear have been aptly designed for this vehicle and look awesome.
The front seats are made with a combination of leather and suede, with blue stitching all over. The gearbox and steering wheel also has a blue stitching, which makes the interior of the vehicle extremely sporty. The roof of the car is black, as seen in the Civic Type R and Civic Sport.
Now considering the customer is going to have an active lifestyle, the engine of the vehicle cannot be sluggish. Doing duty on the Honda Civic Tourer Life style is the 1.6 Litre I-Dtec engine from the stable of Honda`s earth dream technologies department. Now the special thing about this vehicle is that it has gone ahead and set a Guinness world record for the highest mileage. The car consumes only 2.82 litres of fuel to cover a distance of a 100km.
This makes the car a complete package and would be a dream car for people who like long drives and cycling trips. The Honda Civic Tourer will be showcased at the Frankfurt motor show later this month and would probably have a production ready model sometime next year. Heavily doubt this car would make its way to Indian shores.
