In a bid to outweigh brunt of spiralling input costs, Honda’s Indian arm, Honda Cars India will increase prices of its cars across its line-up effective January 2016. The price hike across Honda line-up will range between Rs 10,000 to Rs 16,000. Officials at Honda have confirmed the news regarding the price hike and have also mentioned that this move has come in to combat rising input costs. HCIL offers a variety of vehicles in its portfolio including B segment hatchback Brio, renewed Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda Mobilio, Honda City and Honda CR-V.

Besides Honda, other prominent auto makers in India including Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors, Toyota, General Motors, BMW and Mercedes Benz have already proclaimed price hike across their range effective January 1st, 2016.

Other auto makers in the country like Skoda, Renault and Nissan are weighing options to announce price hike of up to Rs 50,000 on their vehicles from January 1st, 2016. With significant increase in prices of cars of most of the eminent auto makers (luxury and mass segment), sales are likely to witness a downfall. For now, car makers in India are gearing up for the commencement of the 13th edition of the Auto Expo starting from 5th of February 2016.
