Honda BR-V Official Sketches Released
Honda has gone out and released the sketches of its upcoming compact SUV for the Indian market which is due to launch next year. The vehicle which will be called BR-V will be based on the Brio platform, similar to that as the Mobilio. However, the BR-V will be larger than the Mobilio MPV and will be equipped with larger wheels and tyres as well.
Unlike the similar front fascia of the Brio, Amaze and Mobilio family, the BR-V will get a more SUVish nose to make it look more macho. The chrome front grille will be high mounted and will be of two separate parts, similar to that of the CR-V. The lower bumper and fog light area will feature many creases and cuts to make the vehicle look sharper and a prominent scuff plate will also be present at the front. Black cladding and roof rails will be present to give the SUV a rough look, while special emphasis has been given to the beltline and wheel arches to highlight the bigger wheels of the vehicle. The tail lights and the rear gate is similar in design to the Mobilio MPV. Shoulder line (along with the kink) of upcoming BR-V will also be almost identical to the Mobilio.
Wheelbase of the upcoming compact SUV will measure 2652 mm, which is identical to Honda’s MPV and the engines will be shared with the same as well. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will churn out 117 BHP, while the 1.5-litre diesel mill will most likely put out 98.6 BHP. An automatic transmission is also expected to be offered. Another update for the Honda BR-V compact SUV is that its interiors will thankfully be updated, thereby appealing to a larger audience in the Indian car market.
If launched with the same name, the Honda BR-V will be making its debut at the upcoming Indonesian International Auto Show and might also be displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
