Honda Amaze and Mobilio Celebration Editions launched in India
With the festive season starting to get visible on the horizon, car manufacturers in the country are lining up limited edition models in order to get more customers to their showrooms. The latest auto major to join this bandwagon is Honda. The company has just launched the Amaze and Mobilio Celebration Editions in the country.
The changes that the Celebration Edition offers on the Amaze compact sedan and Mobilio MPV is limited to the visual domain as usual. Both the cars now sport decals on the doors. However, it must be said that the decals looks smart, as against the usual decals that other car makers offer. The interiors see premium upholstery with designer cushions and seat covers, floor mats and steering wheel covers. A Celebration Edition emblem has also been thrown on to the tailgate. The limited edition models will be available with the two vehicles in only two colours, namely, Orchid White Pearl and Taffeta White.
On the mechanical front, the Amaze derives power from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol motor that churns out 87 BHP and 107 Nm of torque. The Mobilio on the other hand runs on both a petrol and diesel motor. The diesel is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill which generates 99 BHP and 200 Nm of twisting force, while the petrol is the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine which belts out 118 BHP and 145 Nm of torque. Both the models in topic are driven by a 5-speed manual transmission, but the Amaze also gets an automatic gearbox with the petrol engine.
Given the changes that the Celebration Editions receive is not significant, these models should not help Honda in garnering more sales realistically. However, the addition of minor accessories like floor mats, etc. helps customers to save some money at time of purchasing the vehicle. Till then let’s see what else cooks as the festive season arrives in the country.
