Hero MotoCorp testing 110 cc self developed engine
Hero MotoCorp is all set for a year of launches. The company will be launching its much-awaited HX250R, entering a completely new segment. But, Hero stays true to its consumers, and will also be launching 2 new scooters and motorcycles. Hero has always been a reliable name in the commuter motorcycle space, with its value for money pricing and amazing fuel economy figures.
Pictures of a hero bike testing were recently leaked online, and as it turns out it was a Passion Pro. Due to contractual commitments between Honda and Hero, no changes can be made to Passion Xpro. The bike is said to have a youth appeal, with 5-spoke alloys and sporty design. It has an elongated tail lamp and extended seat structure. Telescopic forks upfront and hydraulic shock absorbers on the rear comprise the suspension setup.
The most interesting part though, will be the bike`s engine. Though no specs have been mentioned, the 110 cc engine is developed by Hero MotoCorp`s R&D cell and will be a first of its kind. Till now Hero was using engines made by Honda, but after their split, Hero set up their own R&D cell to develop their own engine. Along with this bike, Hero MotoCorp also plans to launch the Hero Leap (Hybrid scooter) and Hero RNT (Concept 150cc diesel bike).
It surely would be exciting to see the outcome, and what Hero MotorCorp has to offer to the public. Only time will tell!
The Splendor continues to be the highest selling Hero motorcycle powered with a Honda engine.
